Amazonite Crystal: Meaning, Calm & Clear Communication

Amazonite is a blue-green variety of potassium feldspar, its colour coming from small amounts of lead and water within the crystal structure. It is named for the Amazon River, though it is not actually found there in significant quantities. It is mined primarily in Russia, Colorado, and Brazil. Its colour sits exactly at the crossing point of blue and green, which feels right for a stone that bridges the heart and the throat.

What Amazonite means

Amazonite is associated with both the heart and throat chakras, making it a particularly useful stone for honest, compassionate communication. It supports you in saying what you mean without unkindness, in holding both your own truth and another person's perspective at the same time. It is also a calming stone, used to ease anxiety, soothe the nervous system, and bring a sense of spaciousness to situations that feel tight.

How to use Amazonite

Hold amazonite when preparing for a difficult conversation, or carry it with you when you need to stay calm and clear in a charged situation. Place it at the throat during meditation to open the channels of authentic expression. Use it alongside journaling when you want to write honestly about something you have been circling around. In your space, amazonite near a desk where communication happens brings a softening influence. Cleanse amazonite with moonlight or a gentle pass of sage smoke.
